ONE FAMILY PLAN

The Name Above ALL Names

Jesus speaks of coming in His Father's Name; declaring His Father's Name; doing all His works in His Father's Name; keeping His disciples in His Father's name; hallowing His Father's name, manifesting His Father's Name; but what is His Father’s Name?

“Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in My Father's Name, they bear witness of Me.” (John 10:25) “And I have declared unto them Thy Name, and will declare it...” (John 17:26) “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name.” (Matt. 6:9)“I have manifested Thy Name unto the men which Thou gavest Me.” (John 17:6) “While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Thy Name...” (John 17:12) “I am come in My Father's Name, and ye receive Me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive...” (John 5:43)

Jehovah MUST be the Father. He is contrasted with His Anointed and with His Son. It must be His Name.

“The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, [Heb: YHWH-Jehovah] and against His Anointed, saying…” (Psalm 2:2)

“I will declare the decree: the LORD [Heb: YHWH-Jehovah] hath said unto me, Thou art My Son; this day have I begotten Thee.” (Psalm 2:7)

“Serve the LORD [Heb: Jehovah] with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son...” (Psalm 2:11-12)

Jesus was to inherit a Name:

“Being made so much better than the angels, as He has by INHERITANCE obtained a more excellent name than they.” (Heb. 1:4)

What kind of name?

“Wherefore God also has highly exalted Him, and given Him A NAME which is ABOVE EVERY NAME.” (Phil. 2:9)

What Name could be ABOVE the very NAME OF GOD? There is not one! The Name Jesus receives of His Father is that of His Fathers!

“Father Holy! Keep them in the name of-you to-which you-have given to-me that they may be one according as we.” (John 17:11, The Concordant Publishing Concern, The Greek Text)

“Father holy, keep them in the name of Thee, by which Thou hast given to me.” (John 17:11, The Emphatic Diaglott By Benjamin Wilson)

The NAME ABOVE EVERY NAME IS GOD’S NAME!

JESUS IS JEHOVAH!

“Holy Father, You have given Me Your Name; now protect them by the power of Your Name so that they will be united just as We are.” (John 17:11, NLT - 2007)

“Holy Father, keep them in Your Name, which You Have given Me, that they may be one, even as we are one.” (John 17:11, English Standard Version -2001)

“Holy Father, keep them in Your Name, the Name which You have given Me, that they may be one even as We are.” (John 17:11, ASB)

“Holy Father, keep them in Thy Name which Thou hast given Me, that they may be one as We.” (John 17:11, Darby Bible Translation)

Verse 12 confirms…

“While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Thy Name: those You gave Me I kept...” (John 17:12)

“And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power, Which He wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places. Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and EVERY NAME THAT IS NAMED, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come.” (Eph. 1:19-21)

The Father gives the Son His NAME, POWER, and GLORY, but the Son is not exalted ABOVE the Father:

“But when He says all things are put under Him [Jesus] it is manifest that He [GOD] is excepted...” (I Cor. 15:27)

Here it is in ONE SIMPLE VERSE!

“I AM COME IN MY FATHER'S NAME, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.” (John 5:43)

WHEN did He have this Name? When He came!

“She shall bring forth a Son, and you shall call His Name JESUS [Jehovah].” (Matt. 1:21)

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and His Name shall be called WONDERFUL, COUNSELOR, The MIGHTY GOD, The EVERLASTING FATHER, The PRINCE OF PEACE.” (Isa. 9:6)

WONDERFUL: “Many of LORD my God are Thy wonderful works...” (Psalm 40:5) “... the wonderful works of God.” (Acts 2:11)

COUNSELOR: “Thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.” (Isa. 25:1) “For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been His counselor?” (Rom. 11:34)

MIGHTY GOD: “Thou shalt not be affrighted at them: for the LORD thy God is among you, a mighty God and terrible.” (Deu 7:21)

EVERLASTING FATHER: “The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore…” (2 Cor 11:31) “Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever…” (Philippians 4:20)

PRINCE OF PEACE: “…Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Rom 1:7) “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly…” (1 Thes 5:23)

The Hebrew Name YHWH (Yahweh/Jehovah) means Jehovah is Salvation. The Greek Name Iesous transliterated to Jesus means Jehovah is Salvation. They are the SAME NAME!

From the Hebrew letters for Yehshua (Joshua) to the Greek transliteration Iesous (Jesus) to the English Jesus… God tells us that He NEVER gives His glory to another…

“The God of Israel, the LORD of hosts...For Mine Own sake, even for Mine Own sake, will I do it: for how should My Name be polluted? and I WILL NOT GIVE MY GLORY UNTO ANOTHER.” (Isaiah 48:2 &11) “I am the LORD [YHWH-Jehovah/Jesus]: that is My Name: and MY GLORY WILL I NOT GIVE UNTO ANOTHER, neither My praise to graven images.” (Isaiah 42:8)

If Jesus is not Jehovah, how do we make sense of the following…

“For the Son of man shall come IN THE GLORY OF HIS FATHER with His angels; and then He shall reward every man according to his works.” (Matt. 16:27)

“…when HE COMES IN THE GLORY OF HIS FATHER with the holy angels.” (Mark 8:38)

“And now, O Father, GLORIFY THOU ME WITH THINE OWN SELF [Thine OWN glory] with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.” (John 17:5)

Jesus IS Jehovah! Jehovah IS JESUS!

“The voice of one crying in the wilderness, PREPARE YE THE WAY OF THE LORD, make His paths straight.” (Mark 1:3) “The voice of him that cries in the wilderness, PREPARE YE THE WAY OF THE LORD make straight in the desert a highway for our God.” (Isaiah 40:3)

JEHOVAH JIREH, THE LORD WILL PROVIDE… from Gen 22:13-14 where God provides a ram…

JESUS: “…Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” (John 1:29) “But my God shall supply your need [provide] according to His riches in glory BY Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:19)

JEHOVAH MEKADDSH, THE LORD SANCTIFIES: to make Holy… “Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily My sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.” (Exodus 31:13)

JESUS: “By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ.” (Heb. 10:10)

JEHOVAH NISSI, THE LORD OUR BANNER: Signifying VICTORY! “And Moses built an altar and called the name of it, The Lord Is My Banner…” (Ex 17:15, ESV)

JESUS: “But thanks be to God, which gives us the VICTORY THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.” (I Cor. 15:57)

JEHOVAH RHOI, THE LORD MY SHEPHERD: “He shall feed His flock like a shepherd: He shall gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.” (Isa. 40:11)

JESUS: “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.” (John 10:11)

“And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.” (1 John 2:2)

JEHOVAH SHALOM, THE LORD IS PEACE: “So Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and called it Jehovah shalom ['Shalom' means peace].” (Judges 6:24)

JESUS: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and his name shall be called The Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:5) “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you...” (John 14:27)

JEHOVAH ISIDKENU, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS: “In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is His Name whereby He shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.” (Jer. 23:6)

JESUS: “And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.” (Matt. 3:15) “Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ.” (Rom. 3:22) “Because He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by that Man [that man Jesus].” (Acts 17:31)

JEHOVAH ROPHE, JEHOVAH IS OUR HEALER: “...I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that heals thee.” (Ex. 15:26)

JESUS: “And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.” (Matt. 4:23) “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” (Acts 10:38)

JEHOVAH SHAMMAH, THE LORD IS THERE: “And the name of the city from that time on shall be the Lord Is There [Heb: 'Jehovah shammah].” (Ezek. 48:35) “And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?” (Exodis 17:7)

“…for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” (Heb 13:5)

“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel [Heb: ‘with us is God’].” (Isa. 7:14)

JESUS

“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” (Matt. 1:23)

“For where two or three are gathered together in My Name, THERE am I in the midst of them.” (Matt. 18:20)

“Behold, the tabernacle of God is with them, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.” (Rev. 21:2)

Names of God

“They have called him Indra, Mitra, Varuna, Agni, and the divine fine-winged Garuda; They speak of Indra, Yama, Matrarisvan: the One Being sages call by many names.” (Hinduism. Rig Veda 1.164.46)

“Allow us recognize Thee in all Thy holy names and forms: as Rama, as Krishna, as Shiva, as Buddha. Let us know Thee as Abraham, as Solomon, as Zarathustra, as Moses, as Jesus, as Mohammed, and in many other names and forms, known and unknown to the world.” (Sufism, Prayers of Hazrat-o-Murshid)

“Wherein does religion consist? It consists in doing as little harm as possible, in doing good in abundance, in the practice of love, of compassion, of truthfulness and purity, in all the walks of life.” (Buddhism, Ashoka’s Edicts , The Seven Pillar Edicts 2)

“Whoever does not love does not know God, because GOD IS LOVE.” (1 John 4:8)
