Witchcraft...
If we mix certain ingredients... We, by our own hands, will surely succeed! If we eat of the special herbs... By the arranging of the candles... If we stare into the crystal ball... The turning of the (spiritual) Tarot cards... The "read" of the stars... The speaking of a phrase, or mantra... The secret knowledge (arts)... The Rituals… It is most often the trickery of (alleged) free will, or rather the illusion of free will. Many in the magic arts [and nearly everyone else] often work as separatists, with the belief that it is they [we, individually] that cause change. Though a higher entity is called upon, it is, nonetheless, the magician's [or the Christian's] free will choice that is causing good or evil. It is no different than the Christian's blessed prayer and the laying on of their holy hands. While the divine spark is assured, it is only through the power of all, the power of God, Love, whereby Tao is achieved. Make no mistake. There is amazing symbolism and power in Magick. Biblically speaking, from an allegorical standpoint, Witchcraft, and/or the Magician are a spiritual condition. While Witchcraft (Wicca) and Magic(k) may hold honorable titles and truths with many, the biblical references, i.e. Mystery Babylon, are immensely deep and meaningful. It is something whereby we have all struggled...

We are all a part of the Spiritual City. It is the Temple within. Mystery Babylon is the spiritual wicked city within. The desires of our heart are selfish. New Jerusalem is the Holy City within. Our desires are for all, the body, God, Love. His purpose will stand!

It IS Rebellion IS witchcraft...

And therein is the definition. Wiccans are every bit as sweet a people as any other certified religion. Witchcraft's biblical (KJV) definition is rebellion. It is separatism, a belief that we are all powerful, a lusting for our own selfish cravings. In lieu of the magick of all, it is the magick of one power driven person. Really it is the magick of all that is ONE. Therein is God!
"Hear, O heavens! Listen, O earth! For the Lord has spoken: 'I reared children and brought them up, but they have rebelled against me.'" - Isaiah 1:2 (NIV)
The making of a name for ourselves is love's antithesis!
"Now for some time a man named Simon had practiced sorcery in the city and amazed all the people of Samaria. HE BOASTED THAT HE WAS SOMEONE GREAT, and all the people, both high and low, gave him their attention and exclaimed, 'This man is the divine power known as the Great Power.' Consider the great signs of the beast! We are the beasts. We are the devil. We are the accusers of our brothers and sisters [night and day]! So often we follow ourselves, our individual [granted] power... The first beast is our blatant selfish nature. The second is filled with the thoughts of the first but may appear pure on the outside.

The magicians... it may work for a while in the secret [black] arts with evil intent, i.e. Jannes and jambres, but surely the true magick of God will surface, i.e. the Magick of Moses... ALL for ONE and ONE for ALL!

The Truth was opposed in the Magick of Jannes and Jambres... Pay close attention... all of this is happening in the minds of the so-called holy people... it is the second beast...
"For among them are those who make their way into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and swayed by various impulses, who will listen to anybody and can never arrive at a knowledge of the truth. AS JANNES AND JAMBRES OPPOSED MOSES, SO THESE MEN ALSO OPPOSE THE TRUTH, men of corrupt mind and counterfeit faith." - 2 Timothy 3:6-8 (RSV)

And lest we forget the Witch of Endor:
"...they came to the woman by night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring me him up, whom I shall name unto thee." (1 Sam 28:8) "...I saw gods ascending out of the earth... What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself." (1 Sam 28:13-14)
It's all of us doing the magick. God is Sovereign! Every part of God is completely in control! Therein is the Power- not just 1 person- all of the Divine Sparks (together) as God! Suffice it to say, there are two types of Magick portrayed in Scripture. The forbidden...
"Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord..." (Deu 18:10-12, NIV)
"Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself; That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish..." (Isaiah 44:24, 25 KJV)
"Therefore HEARKEN NOT ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon: FOR THEY PROPHESY A LIE..." (Jeremiah 27:9, 10 KJV)
Divination by rods... "My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err..." (Hosea 4:12)
By cups... "Is not this it in which my lord drinketh, and whereby indeed he divineth? ye have done evil in so doing." (Gen 44:5)
By liver... "For the king of Babylon... to use divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver." (Ezek 21:21) "And it shall be unto them as a false divination in their sight, to them that have sworn oaths: but he will call to remembrance the iniquity..." (Ezekiel 21:23 KJV)
Here is the problem with the forbidden divinations:
"Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The Lord saith it; albeit I have not spoken?" (Ezekiel 13:7 KJV)
In lieu of trusting in the spells, in themselves, in man, it is a trusting in the Sovereignty of God.
"Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men..." (Acts 19:19)
The acceptable forms of Magick
First, recall the Tower of Babel: "...Behold, the people is one... and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do." (Gen 11:6)
Herein is the Magick of All Things...

By Lot
Canaan was divided by lot (Numbers 26:55,56); Achan's guilt was made known (Joshua 7:16-19), Saul was chosen king (1 Samuel 10:20,21), and Matthias selected to the apostleship (Acts 1:26). The scape-goat was determined (Leviticus 16:8-10) by lot.

"...Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live" is an incorrect translation from the Hebrew... the correct translation, you will find, reads "Thou shalt not suffer a sorceress to live." In context, the Hebrew word refers not so much to a sorceress as it does to a poisoner, and is so translated in other parts of the Bible. In other words, this was not an injunction against Witchcraft, but against murder. (Donald Kraig, Modern Magick, Lesson Seven, p. 298)
