Still Righteous
...righteousness is not what you think
Noah
"When Noah awoke from his wine, and knew the thing which his youngest son had done to him..." (Genesis 9:24 AMP)
Judah
"When Judah saw her, he thought she was a harlot... He turned to her by the road and said, Come, let me have intercourse with you; for he did not know that she was his daughter-in-law..." (Genesis 38:15, 16 AMP)
Samson
"Then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there an harlot, and went in unto her." (Judges 16:1)
David
A man after God's own heart...
"David went, he and his men, and slew two hundred Philistine men, and brought their foreskins and gave them in full number to the king, that he might become the king's son-in-law. And Saul gave him Michal his daughter as wife." (1 Samuel 18:27 AMP)
Last words... "So do not hold him guiltless... His hoary head bring down to the grave with blood." (1 Kings 2:9 AMP)
Lot
"Look now, I have two daughters who are virgins; let me, I beg of you, bring them out to you, and you can do as you please with them..." (Genesis 19:8 AMP)
"So that night the two girls got their father drunk with wine. Then the younger daughter went and had sexual relations with him... Both of Lot’s daughters became pregnant. Their father was the father of their babies." (Genesis 19:35, 36 ERV)
"And He rescued righteous Lot, greatly worn out and distressed by the wanton ways of the ungodly and lawless..." (2 Peter 2:7 AMP)
As it is written, None is righteous, just and truthful and upright and conscientious, no, not one." (Romans 3:10 AMP)
They are all gone aside, they have all together become filthy; there is none that does good or right, no, not one." (Psalm 14:3 AMP)
"...no one does right, not even one!"(Romans 3:12 AMP)
"For no person will be justified (made righteous, acquitted, and judged acceptable) in His sight by observing the works prescribed by the Law..."(Romans 3:20 AMP)
"But now the righteousness of God has been revealed independently and altogether apart from the Law..."(Romans 3:21 AMP)
"For we hold that a man is justified and made upright by faith independent of and distinctly apart from good deeds (works of the Law)..." (Romans 3:28 AMP)
Right living without good works...
"For if Abraham was justified (established as just by acquittal from guilt) by good works [that he did, then] he has grounds for boasting. But not before God! For what does the Scripture say? Abraham believed in (trusted in) God, and it was credited to his account as righteousness (right living and right standing with God)." [Gen. 15:6.] (Romans 4:2, 3 AMP)
But to one who, not working [by the Law], trusts (believes fully) in Him Who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited to him as righteousness (the standing acceptable to God). (Romans 4:5 AMP)
Thus David congratulates the man and pronounces a blessing on him to whom God credits righteousness apart from the works he does: (Romans 4:6 AMP)
For the Law results in [divine] wrath, but where there is no law there is no transgression [of it either]. (Romans 4:15 AMP)
Fully satisfied and assured that God was able and mighty to keep His word and to do what He had promised. That is why his faith was credited to him as righteousness (right standing with God). (Romans 4:21, 22 AMP)
Already in Willoughby...
THEREFORE, SINCE we are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). (Romans 5:1 AMP)
Don't do this! Don't do that! - if we are still guilty! If we are still under the law!! Sins are presently not held against them!!!
"...[Urged on] by faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and went forth to a place which he was destined to receive as an inheritance; and he went, although HE DID NOT KNOW OR TROUBLE HIS MIND ABOUT WHERE HE WAS TO GO." (Hebrews 11:8, Amplified)
"For he was [waiting expectantly and confidently] looking forward to the city which has fixed and firm foundations, whose Architect and Builder is God." (Hebrews 11:10, Amplified)
