There are NO Rules in LOVE
"Even three times a day to offer three hundred cooking pots of food does not match a portion of the merit acquired in one instant of love." (Buddhism, Nagarjuna, Precious Garland 283)

It is Not the Outside...

"...Not by sacred water is one pure, although many folk bathe in it..." (Buddhism, Udana 6)

"...Look, you brothers, who bathe in the holy waters... Look, you monks, who bathe in the stream. Give up, give up, your unholy thoughts; give up lustful thoughts for another man's wife, give up coveting after another man's wealth. If you bathe in the waters without giving up these, it is as if bathing in a stream that has run dry."

It is the heart!

We either live by a set of 'rules' and FAIL or we live in LOVE

"In that He says, A NEW covenant, He has made the first OLD. Now that which decays and waxes OLD is ready to VANISH AWAY" (Hebrews 8:13) "For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and CIRCUMCISION IS THAT OF THE HEARTIN THE SPIRIT, NOT IN THE LETTER; whose praise is not from men but from God." (Romans 2:28-29) 

NO RULES! ONLY LOVE! 

Let's see... Church 3x/week, oh, and NO 'R' movies, NO swear words, NO this, NO that, and on and on and on... 

There are NO rules in LOVE!

The rules...

"Who is it he is trying to teach? To whom is he explaining his message? To children weaned from their milk, to those just taken from the breast? For it is: DO THIS, DO THAT, A RULE FOR THIS, A RULE FOR THAT; a little here, a little there." (Isaiah 28:9-10)

The demise

"So then, the word of the LORD to them will become: DO THIS, DO THAT, A RULE FOR THIS, A RULE FOR THAT; A LITTLE HERE, A LITTLE THERE... SO THAT AS THEY GO THEY WILL FALL BACKWARD; THEY WILL BE INJURED AND SNARED AND CAPTURED." (Isaiah 28:13, NIV)

Look closely

"So then, whatever you desire that others would do to and for you, even so do also to and for them, for this is (sums up) the Law and the Prophets." (Matthew 7:12) 

"Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for WHOEVER LOVES OTHERS HAS FULFILLED THE LAW." (Rom 13:8, NIV)

"Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore LOVE IS THE FULFILLMENT OF THE LAW." (Romans 13:10)

"This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you." (John 15:12)

"For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'" (Galatians 5:14)

FREE!!

"Being then made FREE FROM SIN, ye became the servants of righteousness." 
-Romans 6:18 (KJV)

One can only 'sin' UNDER the Law... 'SIN' IS 'Transgression of the Law!'"

"Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness." (1 John 3:4)

Jesus was born 'under the law' to redeem those 'under the law.'

"But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, BORN UNDER THE LAW, TO REDEEM THOSE UNDER THE LAW, that we might receive adoption to sonship." (Galatians 4:4-5)

"For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been TEMPTED IN EVERY WAY, JUST AS WE ARE... YET HE DID NOT SIN." (Hebrews 4:15)

He does NOT transgress the law! He does NOT sin: 

"...yet he did NOT sin." (Hebrews 4:15)

"...the precious blood of Christ, A LAMB WITHOUT BLEMISH OR DEFECT." (1 Peter 1:19)

The Law of the Spirit of Life

"For THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS HAS SET YOU FREE FROM THE LAW OF SIN AND OF DEATH." (Romans 8:2)

"Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore LOVE IS THE FULFILLMENT OF THE LAW." (Romans 13:10)

"This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you." (John 15:12)

"For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." (Galatians 5:14)

NOT under the Old Law because there is a New Law IN LOVE, IN CHRIST- IN GOD!!!

 - doing good while breaking the Law?!!

"The Lord answered him, 'YOU HYPOCRITES! DOESN'T EACH OF YOU ON THE SABBATH UNTIE YOUR OX OR DONKEY FROM THE STALL AND LEAD IT OUT TO GIVE IT WATER? Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?'" -Luke 13:15-16 (NIV)

"Then he asked them, 'IF ONE OF YOU HAS A CHILD OR AN OX THAT FALLS INTO A WELL ON THE SABBATH DAY, WILL YOU NOT IMMEDIATELY PULL IT OUT?'"

"In that he saith, A NEW COVENANT, HE HATH MADE THE FIRST OLD. NOW THAT WHICH DECAYETH AND WAXETH OLD IS READY TO VANISH AWAY." (Hebrews 8:13)

IN CHRIST we are NOT UNDER THE LAW!

"Therefore we conclude that A MAN IS JUSTIFIED BY FAITH APART FROM THE DEEDS OF THE LAW." (Romans 3:28, NKJV)

If we are led by Spirit...

"BUT IF YOU ARE LED BY THE SPIRIT, YOU ARE NOT UNDER THE LAW." (Galatians 5:18, NIV)

This is how we are to live! There is NO LAW IN LOVE!

"BUT THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT IS LOVE, JOY, PEACE, FORBEARANCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS AND SELF-CONTROL. AGAINST SUCH THINGS THERE IS NO LAW." (Galatians 5:22, NIV)

"Now to a laborer, his wages are not counted as a favor or a gift, but as an obligation (something owed to him). BUT TO ONE WHO, NOT WORKING [BY THE LAW], TRUSTS (BELIEVES FULLY) IN HIM WHO JUSTIFIES THE UNGODLY, HIS FAITH IS CREDITED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS (the standing acceptable to God)." (Romans 4:4-5, Amplified)

Not one jot or tittle... it is still very much alive! Nearly every person remains under the Law. 

"For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, TILL ALL BE FULFILLED." (Matthew 5:18)

By faith in Christ we uphold the Law 

"Do we then by [this] faith make the Law of no effect, overthrow it or make it a dead letter? Certainly not! On the contrary, WE CONFIRM AND ESTABLISH AND UPHOLD THE LAW." (Romans 3:31)

How do we confirm and establish and uphold the Law? Love!! We can't live by a rulebook. We must live IN LOVE

"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, CLOTHE YOURSELVES WITH COMPASSION, KINDNESS, HUMILITY, GENTLENESS AND PATIENCE. BEAR WITH EACH OTHER AND FORGIVE ONE ANOTHER if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And OVER ALL THESE VIRTUES PUT ON LOVE, WHICH BINDS THEM ALL TOGETHER IN PERFECT UNITY." (Colossians 3:12-14, NIV)

ALL 613 LAWS are summed up in ONE SCRIPTURE... in fact ONE WORD... LOVE!!! 

"So then, whatever you desire that others would do to and for you, even so do also to and for them, FOR THIS IS (SUMS UP) THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS." (Matthew 7:12)

Just stare at this for a while:

"Love does no wrong to one's neighbor [it never hurts anybody]. Therefore LOVE MEETS ALL THE REQUIREMENTS AND IS THE FULFILLING OF THE LAW." (Romans 13: 10)

"MAY THE LORD MAKE YOUR LOVE INCREASE AND OVERFLOW FOR EACH OTHER and for everyone else, just as ours does for you." (1 Thessalonians 3:12)

If we love, we fulfill the Law! We are not UNDER the Law!  

#1. LOVE UP:

AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.' (Mark 12:30, NASB)

#2. LOVE OUT:

"The second is this, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' There is no other commandment greater than these." (Mark 12:31, NASB)

LOVE TRUMPS FAITH?!

"...IF I HAVE A FAITH THAT CAN MOVE MOUNTAINS, BUT DO NOT HAVE LOVE, I AM NOTHING. IF I GIVE ALL I POSSESS TO THE POOR AND GIVE OVER MY BODY TO HARDSHIP THAT I MAY BOAST, BUT DO NOT HAVE LOVE, I GAIN NOTHING." (1 Corinthians 13:2-3)

"And now these three remain: FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE. BUT THE GREATEST OF THESE IS LOVE." (1 Corinthians 13:13)

Note that one can "give all" ...WORKS UNDER OBLIGATION or WORKS SO THAT OTHERS MAY SEE and still gain NOTHING!!

"WHOEVER DOES NOT LOVE DOES NOT KNOW GOD, BECAUSE GOD IS LOVE." (1 John 4:8) 

"LOVE NEVER FAILS..." (1 Corinthians 13:8)

"Love is PATIENT, love is KIND. It DOES NOT ENVY, it DOES NOT BOAST, it IS NOT PROUD. It DOES NOT DISHONOR OTHERS, it is NOT SELF-SEEKING, it is NOT EASILY ANGERED, it keeps NO RECORD OF WRONGS. Love DOES NOT DELIGHT IN EVIL but REJOICES WITH THE TRUTH. It ALWAYS PROTECTS, ALWAYS TRUSTS, ALWAYS HOPES, ALWAYS PERSEVERES. LOVE NEVER FAILS..." (1 Corinthians 13:4-8, NIV)

If we really "love" Christ:

"If you [really] love Me, you will keep (obey) My commands." (John 14: 15)

"I give you a new commandment: THAT YOU SHOULD LOVE ONE ANOTHER. Just as I have loved you, so you too should love one another." (John 13: 34)

FAITH without LOVE is DEAD:

"...and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing." (1 Corinthians 13:2)

LOVE and FAITH work hand in hand:

"WHEREAS THE OBJECT AND PURPOSE OF OUR INSTRUCTION AND CHARGE IS LOVE, WHICH SPRINGS FROM A PURE HEART AND A GOOD (CLEAR) CONSCIENCE AND SINCERE (UNFEIGNED) FAITH." (1 Timothy 1: 5)

"Works" of Love:

"LOVE ONE ANOTHER WITH BROTHERLY AFFECTION [AS MEMBERS OF ONE FAMILY], GIVING PRECEDENCE AND SHOWING HONOR TO ONE ANOTHER." (Romans 12:10)

"Little children, let us not love [merely] in theory or in speech but in deed and in truth (in practice and in sincerity)." (1 John 3: 18)

"Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. EVERYONE WHO LOVES HAS BEEN BORN OF GOD AND KNOWS GOD." (1 John 4:7, NIV)

"But earnestly desire and zealously cultivate the greatest and best gifts and graces (the higher gifts and the choicest graces). AND YET I WILL SHOW YOU A STILL MORE EXCELLENT WAY [ONE THAT IS BETTER BY FAR AND THE HIGHEST OF THEM ALL--LOVE]." (1 Corinthians 12: 31, Amplified)

WE are to live in LOVE:

"By this EVERYONE WILL KNOW THAT YOU ARE MY DISCIPLES, IF YOU LOVE ONE ANOTHER." (John 13:35, NIV)

"ABOVE ALL THINGS HAVE INTENSE AND UNFAILING LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER, for love covers a multitude of sins [forgives and disregards the offenses of others]." (1 Peter 4: 8, Amplified)

The Law was a bi-lateral contract:

"Now a go-between (intermediary) has to do with and implies more than one party [there can be no mediator with just one person]. Yet God is [only] one Person [and He was the sole party in giving that promise to Abraham. But THE LAW WAS A CONTRACT BETWEEN TWO, God and Israel; its validity was dependent on both]." (Galatians 3:20)

We can NEVER be justified through the Law because we are NOT able to hold up our end of the deal:

 "...the Law then contrary and opposed to the promises of God? Of course not! For if a Law had been given which could confer [spiritual] life, then righteousness and right standing with God would certainly have come by Law." (Galatians 3:21)

Faith in Christ is a uni-lateral contract, a dependence, belief, trust that GOD ALONE will fulfill HIS PROMISE:

"And if you belong to Christ [are in Him Who is Abraham's Seed], then you are Abraham's offspring and [spiritual] HEIRS ACCORDING TO PROMISE." (Galatians 3:29)

And Faith has EVERYTHING to do with LOVE:

"I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so THAT CHRIST MAY DWELL IN YOUR HEARTS THROUGH FAITH. AND I PRAY THAT YOU, BEING ROOTED AND ESTABLISHED IN LOVE, MAY HAVE POWER, TOGETHER WITH ALL THE LORD'S HOLY PEOPLE, TO GRASP HOW WIDE AND LONG AND HIGH AND DEEP IS THE LOVE OF CHRIST, AND TO KNOW THIS LOVE THAT SURPASSES KNOWLEDGE... THAT YOU MAY BE FILLED TO THE MEASURE OF ALL THE FULLNESS OF GOD." (Ephesians 3:16-19, NIV)

"And above all these [put on] love and enfold yourselves with the bond of perfectness [which binds everything together completely in ideal harmony]." (Colossians 3: 14, Amplified)

"For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect: Because THE LAW WORKETH WRATH: FOR WHERE NO LAW IS, THERE IS NO TRANSGRESSION."

Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification."

"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also WE HAVE ACCESS BY FAITH INTO THIS GRACE WHEREIN WE STAND, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but WE GLORY IN TRIBULATIONS ALSO: KNOWING THAT TRIBULATION WORKETH PATIENCE; AND PATIENCE, EXPERIENCE; AND EXPERIENCE, HOPE: AND HOPE MAKETH NOT ASHAMED; BECAUSE THE LOVE OF GOD IS SHED ABROAD IN OUR HEARTS by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly." -Romans 5:1-6 (KJV)

"For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But GOD COMMENDETH HIS LOVE TOWARD US, IN THAT, WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS, CHRIST DIED FOR US. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him." -Romans 5:7-9 (KJV)

"Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become DEAD TO THE LAW BY THE BODY OF CHRIST; THAT YE SHOULD BE MARRIED TO ANOTHER, even to him who is raised from the dead, THAT WE SHOULD BRING FORTH FRUIT UNTO GOD." -Romans 7:4 (KJV)

IN Christ IS IN the Spirit IS in LOVE!!

"THERE IS THEREFORE NOW NO CONDEMNATION TO THEM WHICH ARE IN CHRIST JESUS, who walk not after the flesh, but AFTER THE SPIRIT. FOR THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS HATH MADE ME FREE FROM THE LAW OF SIN AND DEATH." -Romans 8:1-2 (KJV)

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter."

"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

"For CHRIST IS THE END OF THE LAW for righteousness to every one that believeth."

Love fulfills the Law

"Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for HE THAT LOVETH ANOTHER HATH FULFILLED THE LAW." -Romans 13:8 (KJV)

"BUT THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT IS LOVE, JOY, PEACE, FORBEARANCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS AND SELF-CONTROL. AGAINST SUCH THINGS THERE IS NO LAW." -Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)

"For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore LOVE IS THE FULFILLING OF THE LAW." -Romans 13:9-10 (KJV)

There is freedom indeed IN CHRIST!! While it is true we do not have to esteem one day above another or follow the plethora of Old Covenant rules we must adhere to LOVE! 

"Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. LET NOT HIM THAT EATETH DESPISE HIM THAT EATETH NOT; AND LET NOT HIM WHICH EATETH NOT JUDGE HIM THAT EATETH: for God hath received him. Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. ONE MAN ESTEEMETH ONE DAY ABOVE ANOTHER: ANOTHER ESTEEMETH EVERY DAY ALIKE. LET EVERY MAN BE FULLY PERSUADED IN HIS OWN MIND." -Romans 14:1-5 (KJV)

"LET US THEREFORE FOLLOW AFTER THE THINGS WHICH MAKE FOR PEACE, AND THINGS WHEREWITH ONE MAY EDIFY ANOTHER." -Romans 14:19 (KJV)

"It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak." -Romans 14:21 (KJV)

"We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves." -Romans 15:1 (KJV)

"LET EVERY ONE OF US PLEASE HIS NEIGHBOUR FOR HIS GOOD TO EDIFICATION. FOR EVEN CHRIST PLEASED NOT HIMSELF; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me." -Romans 15:2-3 (KJV)

"This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?" (Galatians 3:2)

And faith without works is DEAD:

"Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead." (James 2:17)

And works without love is NOTHING:

The rules...

SPIRIT OF THE SCRIPTURES, NOT THE LETTER...

TRUE RELIGION

"All the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." 
(Galatians 5:14)

"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world."

"True religion is to love, as God loves them, all things, whether great or small."

Again, no rules... only LOVE...

"Some of them were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath. Jesus said to the man with the shriveled hand, 'Stand up in front of everyone.' Then Jesus asked them, 'Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?' But they remained silent." (Mark 3:2-4, NIV)
