Jesus-Jonah-3 days and nights in the Realm of the Dead - periods of time as in creation...

Spiritually dead...
"Then JONAH PRAYED TO THE LORD HIS GOD FROM THE STOMACH OF THE FISH, and he said, 'I called out of my distress to the Lord, And He answered me. I cried for help FROM THE DEPTH OF SHEOL; You heard my voice.'" -Jonah 2:1-2 (NASB)
We are destroyed, yet we return- the stump is left...
"I was looking in the visions in my mind as I lay on my bed, and behold, an angelic watcher, a holy one, descended from heaven... He shouted out and spoke as follows: 'CHOP DOWN THE TREE AND CUT OFF ITS BRANCHES, STRIP OFF ITS FOLIAGE AND SCATTER ITS FRUIT; Let the beasts flee from under it And the birds from its branches. Yet LEAVE THE STUMP WITH ITS ROOTS IN THE GROUND, BUT WITH A BAND OF IRON AND BRONZE AROUND IT IN THE NEW GRASS OF THE FIELD; And let him be drenched with the dew of heaven, And let him share with the beasts in the grass of the earth. From the pit, realm of the dead... The Waters of God... The Great Deep... Descending to the roots- leave the stump... Prisoners of the planet- the earth with its bars... Water (Spirit-Fire) encompassed to death... Weeds (demons/we the devil) from the Garden...
"WATER ENCOMPASSED me TO THE POINT OF DEATH. The GREAT DEEP ENGULFED me, WEEDS WERE WRAPPED AROUND MY HEAD. I DESCENDED TO THE ROOTS OF THE MOUNTAINS. THE EARTH WITH ITS BARS WAS AROUND ME forever, But You have brought up my life from the pit, O Lord my God." -Jonah 2:5-6 (NASB)
The Bread of Adversity and the Water of Affliction...
"Although the Lord gives you THE BREAD OF ADVERSITY and THE WATER OF AFFLICTION, your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them." (Isaiah 30:20 NIV)
IT WAS 3 DAYS AND 3 NIGHTS IN THE "HEART OF THE EARTH!"
Belly of the fish- heart of the earth- Sheol- place of the dead...
"FOR AS JONAH WAS three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, SO THE SON OF MAN WILL BE three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." (Matthew 12:40)
"Then Jonah prayed to the LORD his God from the stomach of the fish, and he said, 'I called out of my distress to the LORD... I cried for help from the depth of Sheol; You heard my voice. For You had cast me into the deep, Into the heart of the seas... All Your breakers and billows passed over me. ...So I said, I HAVE BEEN EXPELLED FROM YOUR SIGHT Nevertheless I will look again toward Your holy temple... Water encompassed me TO THE POINT OF DEATH...
The great deep engulfed me...'" (Jonah 2:1-5, NASB)
"THE HEART OF THE EARTH" is a parable! It is a spiritual condition- death- realm of the dead... unto the least of these... tempted as we are tempted
"For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but ONE WHO HAS BEEN TEMPTED IN ALL THINGS AS WE ARE, yet without sin." -Hebrews 4:15 (NASB)
"Now that He ascended, what is it but that He also descended first into the LOWER [DEPTH, LOWER, UNDER, LOWEST LEVEL, etc.] parts of the earth?" (Eph. 4:9)
Herein is found the "lower parts of the earth."
"Water encompassed me TO THE POINT OF DEATH. The great deep engulfed me, WEEDS WERE WRAPPED AROUND MY HEAD." (Jonah 2:5)
Weeds... demons... spinning in our heads...
"THORNS HAD COME UP EVERYWHERE, THE GROUND WAS COVERED WITH WEEDS, AND THE STONE WALL WAS IN RUINS." (Prov 24:31)
"'Therefore, as surely as I live,' declares the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, 'surely Moab will become like Sodom, the Ammonites LIKE GOMORRAH... A PLACE OF WEEDS AND SALT PITS, A WASTELAND forever. The remnant of my people will plunder them; the survivors of my nation will inherit their land.'" (Zephaniah 2:9)
"THE MEN OF NINEVEH WILL RISE UP IN THE JUDGMENT WITH THIS GENERATION AND CONDEMN IT, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed A GREATER THAN JONAH IS HERE." (Luke 11:32)
"But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, THAT HE, BY THE GRACE OF GOD, MIGHT TASTE DEATH FOR EVERYONE." (Hebrews 2:9)
