Beasts of Daniel
“I said in my heart, ‘Concerning the condition of the sons of men, GOD TESTS THEM, THAT THEY MAY SEE THAT THEY THEMSELVES ARE LIKE ANIMALS.’” (Ecclesiastes 3:18)
“Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea…” (Rev 13:1)
“The beast I saw RESEMBLED A LEOPARD, but had FEET LIKE THOSE OF A BEAR and a MOUTH LIKE THAT OF A LION. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority.” (Revelation 13:2)
DREAMS OF NEBUCHADNEZZAR
“Now in the second year of Nebuchadnezzar’s reign, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams; and his spirit was so troubled that his sleep left him.” (Daniel 2:1)
DREAM OF THE GREAT IMAGE:
IMAGE OF A MAN
EVERY “BEAST” in Daniel leads back to the IMAGE OF A MAN: A BEAST
“…and behold, A GREAT IMAGE!”
“You, O king, were watching; and behold, a great image! THIS GREAT IMAGE, WHOSE SPLENDOR WAS EXCELLENT, STOOD BEFORE YOU; AND ITS FORM WAS AWESOME. THIS IMAGE’S HEAD WAS OF FINE GOLD, ITS CHEST AND ARMS OF SILVER, ITS BELLY AND THIGHS OF BRONZE, ITS LEGS OF IRON, ITS FEET PARTLY OF IRON AND PARTLY OF CLAY.”
(Daniel 2:31-33)
“You watched while A STONE WAS CUT OUT WITHOUT HANDS, WHICH STRUCK THE IMAGE ON ITS FEET OF IRON AND CLAY, AND BROKE THEM IN PIECES. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed together, and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors; the wind carried them away so that no trace of them was found. AND THE STONE THAT STRUCK THE IMAGE BECAME A GREAT MOUNTAIN AND FILLED THE WHOLE EARTH.” (Daniel 2:34-35)
DREAM OF THE FOUR BEASTS
“FOUR GREAT BEASTS, each different from the others, CAME UP OUT OF THE SEA.” (Daniel 7:3)
DREAM OF THE RAM AND THE GOAT
“…and there, standing beside the river, was A RAM WHICH HAD TWO HORNS, and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher one came up last. I saw the ram pushing westward, northward, and southward, so that no animal could withstand him; nor was there any that could deliver from his hand, but HE DID ACCORDING TO HIS WILL AND BECAME GREAT. And as I was considering, SUDDENLY A MALE GOAT came from the west, across the surface of the whole earth, without touching the ground; and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes. Then he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing beside the river, and ran at him with furious power. And I saw him confronting the ram; HE WAS MOVED WITH RAGE AGAINST HIM, ATTACKED THE RAM, AND BROKE HIS TWO HORNS. There was no power in the ram to withstand him, but he cast him down to the ground and trampled him; and THERE WAS NO ONE THAT COULD DELIVER THE RAM FROM HIS HAND.” (Daniel 8:3-7)
“Therefore THE MALE GOAT GREW VERY GREAT; but when he became strong, the large horn was broken, and in place of it four notable ones came up toward the four winds of heaven. AND OUT OF ONE OF THEM CAME A LITTLE HORN WHICH GREW EXCEEDINGLY GREAT TOWARD THE SOUTH, TOWARD THE EAST, AND TOWARD THE GLORIOUS LAND. AND IT GREW UP TO THE HOST OF HEAVEN; and it cast down some of the host and some of the stars to the ground, and trampled them. HE EVEN EXALTED HIMSELF AS HIGH AS THE PRINCE OF THE HOST; and by him the daily sacrifices were taken away, and the place of His sanctuary was cast down. Because of transgression, an army was given over to the horn to oppose the daily sacrifices; and he cast truth down to the ground. HE DID ALL THIS AND PROSPERED.” (Daniel 8:8-12)
Here are the four great BEASTS that “came up out of the sea” from the book of Daniel:
BEAST 1: THE KING OF BABYLON
NEBUCHADNEZZAR (LION)
“The first was LIKE A LION, and it had the WINGS OF AN EAGLE. I watched until its wings were torn off and it was lifted from the ground so that it stood on two feet LIKE A HUMAN BEING, and THE MIND OF A HUMAN WAS GIVEN TO IT.” (Daniel 7:4)
“The head of the statue was made of pure gold…” (Daniel 2:32)
“…YOU ARE THAT HEAD OF GOLD.” (Daniel 2:38) – A MAN
“Your Majesty, you are the king of kings. The God of heaven has given you dominion and power and might and glory; in your hands he has placed all mankind and the beasts of the field and the birds in the sky. Wherever they live, he has made you ruler over them all. YOU ARE THAT HEAD OF GOLD.” (Daniel 2:37-38)
Nebuchadnezzar’s “Man of Sin” is revealed. He becomes as a BEAST:
“…YOUR DWELLING SHALL BE WITH THE BEASTS of the field, and they shall make you eat grass like oxen. They shall wet you with the dew of heaven…” (Daniel 4:25)
Till when?
“…TILL YOU KNOW THAT THE MOST HIGH RULES IN THE KINGDOM OF MEN, AND GIVES IT TO WHOMEVER HE CHOOSES.” (Daniel 4:25, NKJV)
“And at the end of the time I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me; and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever:
For His dominion is an everlasting dominion,
And His kingdom is from generation to generation.
All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing;
He does according to His will in the army of heaven
And among the inhabitants of the earth.
NO ONE CAN RESTRAIN HIS HAND
Or say to Him, ‘What have You done?’
At the same time my reason returned to me, and for the glory of my kingdom, my honor and splendor returned to me. My counselors and nobles resorted to me, I was restored to my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added to me. Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all of whose works are truth, and His ways justice. AND THOSE WHO WALK IN PRIDE HE IS ABLE TO PUT DOWN.” (Daniel 4:34-37)
The King of Babylon IS a BEAST of the SEA – those BEASTS having NO form of Godliness – People of the World!! The King of Mystery Babylon IS a BEAST of the EARTH – those BEASTS having a form of Godliness but denying HIS POWER, holding dearly to their god of “free” will. WE are the Kings of Babylon!
“you will take up this taunt AGAINST THE KING OF BABYLON…” (Isaiah 14:4)
“For thou hast said IN THINE HEART, I WILL ASCEND INTO HEAVEN, I WILL EXALT MY THRONE ABOVE THE STARS OF GOD…” (Isaiah 14:13)
“I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;
I WILL BE LIKE THE MOST HIGH.”
(Isaiah 14:14)
“Yet YOU SHALL BE BROUGHT DOWN to Sheol, To the lowest depths of the Pit.” (Isaiah 14:15)
BEAST 2: A RAM WITH 2 HORNS:
THE KINGS (MEN) OF MEDO-PERSIA (BEAR)
“After you, another kingdom will arise, inferior to yours…” (Daniel 2:39)
“I looked up, and there before me was a ram with two horns, standing beside the canal, and the horns were long. One of the horns was longer than the other but grew up later. I watched the ram as it charged toward the west and the north and the south. No animal could stand against it, and none could rescue from its power. IT DID AS IT PLEASED AND BECAME GREAT.” (Daniel 8:3-4)
“The two-horned ram that you saw represents THE KINGS OF MEDIA AND PERSIA.” (Daniel 8:20)
“…its chest and arms of silver…” (Daniel 2:32) – IMAGE OF A MAN
“And there before me was a second beast, which looked LIKE A BEAR. It was raised up on one of its sides, and it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. It was told, ‘Get up and eat your fill of flesh!’” (Daniel 7:5)
BEAST 3:
GOAT WITH A PROMINENT HORN:
THE KING (A MAN) OF GREECE (LEOPARD)
“…Next, a third kingdom, one of bronze, will rule over the whole earth.” (Daniel 2:39)
“…its belly and thighs of bronze…” (Daniel 2:32) – IMAGE OF A MAN
“After that, I looked, and there before me was another beast, one that looked LIKE A LEOPARD. And on its back it had four wings like those of a bird. THIS BEAST HAD FOUR HEADS, and it was given authority to rule.” (Daniel 7:6)
“The shaggy goat IS THE KING OF GREECE, and THE LARGE HORN BETWEEN ITS EYES IS THE FIRST KING.” (Daniel 8:21)
“As I was thinking about this, suddenly a goat with a prominent horn between its eyes came from the west, crossing the whole earth without touching the ground. It came toward the two-horned ram I had seen standing beside the canal and charged at it in great rage. I saw it attack the ram furiously, striking the ram and shattering its two horns. The ram was powerless to stand against it; the goat knocked it to the ground and trampled on it, and NONE COULD RESCUE THE RAM FROM ITS POWER.” (Daniel 8:5-7)
4 HORNS REPLACED THE PROMINENT HORN:
The ONE HORN is the BEAST of the SEA [no ‘form of godliness’] – when it is replaced with 4 HORNS [of the Altar – 4 Kingdoms of Israel – Christ] it will not have the SAME POWER [it will have a DIFFERENT power – a greater POWER! – 4 PROMINENT HORNS!] – out of these come the LITTLE HORN – the BEAST of the EARTH [a ‘form of godliness]!
“The goat became very great, but at the height of its power THE LARGE HORN WAS BROKEN OFF, AND IN ITS PLACE FOUR PROMINENT HORNS grew up TOWARD THE FOUR WINDS OF HEAVEN.” (Daniel 8:8)
“The four horns that replaced the one that was broken off represent four kingdoms that will emerge from his nation but WILL NOT HAVE THE SAME POWER.” (Daniel 8:22)
Out of ONE of them, Ephraim, comes another… the BEAST of the EARTH…
“And you will be called priests of the LORD, you will be named ministers of our God. You will feed on the wealth of nations, and in their riches you will boast.” (Isaiah 61:6)
“Out of one of them came ANOTHER HORN, WHICH STARTED SMALL BUT GREW IN POWER to the south and to the east and toward the Beautiful Land. It grew until it reached the host of the heavens, and it threw some of the starry host down to the earth and trampled on them. IT SET ITSELF UP TO BE AS GREAT AS THE COMMANDER OF THE ARMY OF THE LORD; it took away the daily sacrifice from the LORD, and his sanctuary was thrown down. Because of rebellion, the LORD’s people and the daily sacrifice were given over to it. IT PROSPERED IN EVERYTHING IT DID, AND TRUTH WAS THROWN TO THE GROUND.” (Daniel 8:9-12)
Out of the 10 Horns [Ephraim]…
“While I was thinking about the horns, there before me was ANOTHER HORN, A LITTLE ONE, which came up among them; AND THREE OF THE FIRST HORNS WERE UPROOTED BEFORE IT. This horn had EYES LIKE THE EYES OF A HUMAN BEING AND A MOUTH THAT SPOKE BOASTFULLY.” (Daniel 7:8)
WHO IS THIS BEAST? - THE LITTLE HORN THAT GREW IN POWER...
THE MASTER OF INTRIGUE
“And in the latter end of their kingdom, about the perfecting of the transgressors, stand up doth a king, fierce of face, and understanding hidden things…” (Daniel 8:23, YLT)
“…a king of fierce countenance and understanding dark trickery and craftiness shall stand up.” (Daniel 8:23, Amplified)
“In the latter part of their reign, when rebels have become completely wicked, A FIERCE-LOOKING KING, A MASTER OF INTRIGUE, WILL ARISE. He will become very strong, but not by his own power. He will cause astounding devastation and will succeed in whatever he does. He will destroy those who are mighty, the holy people. He will cause deceit to prosper, and HE WILL CONSIDER HIMSELF SUPERIOR. When they feel secure, he will destroy many and take his stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be destroyed, but NOT BY HUMAN POWER.” (Daniel 8:23-25)
He considers himself superior and will succeed in whatever he does!!
Who can defeat him? He “…will succeed in whatever he does…” (Dan 8:24, NIV)
Who is like him? “…he will consider himself superior…” (Dan 8:25, NIV)
He is the BEAST found in ALL MEN AND WOMEN!
“…Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?” (Rev 13:4)
He is a prime example of what “FREE” will does to a man. “WE” the “BEASTS” do tell. In 163 BC he died insane.
Jesus Christ WILL defeat the BEAST!
“While you were watching, a rock was cut out, but NOT BY HUMAN HANDS. It struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and smashed them. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were all broken to pieces and became like chaff on a threshing floor in the summer. The wind swept them away without leaving a trace. But THE ROCK THAT STRUCK THE STATUE BECAME A HUGE MOUNTAIN AND FILLED THE WHOLE EARTH.” (Daniel 2:34-35)
BEAST 4
“its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of baked clay.” (Daniel 2:33) – STATUE OF A MAN.
“Finally, there will be a fourth kingdom, strong as iron—for iron breaks and smashes everything—and as iron breaks things to pieces, so IT WILL CRUSH AND BREAK ALL THE OTHERS. Just as you saw that the feet and toes were partly of baked clay and partly of iron, so THIS WILL BE A DIVIDED KINGDOM; yet it will have some of the strength of iron in it, even as you saw iron mixed with clay. As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle. And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so THE PEOPLE WILL BE A MIXTURE AND WILL NOT REMAIN UNITED, ANY MORE THAN IRON MIXES WITH CLAY.” (Daniel 2:40-43)
“After that, in my vision at night I looked, and there before me was a fourth beast—terrifying and frightening and very powerful. It had LARGE IRON TEETH; it crushed and devoured its victims and) trampled underfoot whatever was left. It was different from all the former beasts, and IT HAD TEN HORNS.” (Daniel 7:7)
AND OUT OF THESE: THE LITTLE HORN
“While I was thinking about the horns, there before me was ANOTHER HORN, A LITTLE ONE, which came up among them; and three of the first horns were uprooted before it. This horn had EYES LIKE THE EYES OF A HUMAN BEING AND A MOUTH THAT SPOKE BOASTFULLY.” (Daniel 7:8)
“Then I continued to watch because of the boastful words the horn was speaking. I kept looking until the beast was slain and its body destroyed and thrown into the blazing fire. (The other beasts had been stripped of their authority, but were allowed to live for a period of time.)” (Daniel 7:11-12)
“…a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed together…” (Daniel 2:34-35)
Iron and Clay – A DIVIDED KINGDOM...
This is a MIXED PEOPLE that will NOT remain UNITED! This is Ephraim – 10 Horns/10 Tribes! Ephraim is the 10 Tribes assimilated with ALL the GENTILES – the world. We are a mixed people and we are definitely NOT UNITED.
“…Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself WILL NOT STAND.” (Matthew 12:25)
“And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: AND GREAT WAS THE FALL OF IT.” (Matthew 7:27)
“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and THESE ARE CONTRARY THE ONE TO THE OTHER…” (Galatians 5:16-17)
“…the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:41)
“So then because THOU ART LUKEWARM, and neither cold nor hot, I WILL SPUE THEE OUT OF MY MOUTH.” (Rev 3:16)
GOD’S KINGDOM
God will bring down the kings of this world… the BEASTS… YOU AND ME
“In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever. This is the meaning of the vision of the rock cut out of a mountain, but not by human hands—a rock that broke the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold to pieces…” (Daniel 2:44-45)
“…The great God has shown the king what will take place in the future. The dream is true and its interpretation is trustworthy.” (Daniel 2:45)
ANCIENT OF DAYS
“As I looked, ‘thrones were set in place, and THE ANCIENT OF DAYS TOOK HIS SEAT. His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. HIS THRONE WAS FLAMING WITH FIRE, AND ITS WHEELS WERE ALL ABLAZE. A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before him. Thousands upon thousands attended him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The court was seated, and the books were opened.” (Daniel 7:9-10)
We will ALL worship the LORD:
“In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. HE WAS GIVEN AUTHORITY, GLORY AND SOVEREIGN POWER; ALL NATIONS AND PEOPLES OF EVERY LANGUAGE WORSHIPED HIM. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and HIS KINGDOM IS ONE THAT WILL NEVER BE DESTROYED.”
(Daniel 7:13-14)
FOUNDATION OF ROCK OR SAND
We will ALL stand on/build on the sand. We will ALL “fall away” BEFORE we see our “beast.”
“And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea…” (Revelation 13:1)
There is MUCH TRIBULATION [for the foolish]:
“But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like A FOOLISH MAN WHO BUILT HIS HOUSE ON THE SAND: AND THE RAIN DESCENDED, THE FLOODS CAME, AND THE WINDS BLEW AND BEAT ON THAT HOUSE; AND IT FELL. And great was its fall.” (Matthew 7:26-27, NKJV)
There is MUCH PAIN before the “Man of Sin” is even revealed:
“…and great was the fall of it.” (Matthew 7:27, KJV)
AND even AFTER [for the wise] before we enter the Kingdom:
“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to A WISE MAN WHO BUILT HIS HOUSE ON THE ROCK: AND THE RAIN DESCENDED, THE FLOODS CAME, AND THE WINDS BLEW AND BEAT ON THAT HOUSE; AND IT DID NOT FALL, FOR IT WAS FOUNDED ON THE ROCK. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand…” (Matthew 7:24-26, NKJV)
What is missing?
JESUS CHRIST – a trusting in THE ROCK and NOT one’s SELF.
“For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.” (1 Cor 3:9, NIV)
“According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. FOR OTHER FOUNDATION CAN NO MAN LAY THAN THAT IS LAID, WHICH IS JESUS CHRIST.” (1 Cor 3:10-11)
“Now unto him that is able to KEEP YOU FROM FALLING, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be GLORY and MAJESTY, DOMINION and POWER, both now and ever. Amen.” (Jude 1:24-25)
As we stand naked, helpless, and defenseless on our crumbled foundation of sand even the Saints [the called] are overcome:
“And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them…”
(Revelation 13:7)
We are told to:
“…COME OUT OF HER, MY PEOPLE, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” (Revelation 18:4)
“Nevertheless I have this against you, that YOU HAVE LEFT YOUR FIRST LOVE. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; REPENT…” (Revelation 2:4-5)
Though many are called, few are “chosen” to “come out of her” in this lifetime...
"For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answers to JERUSALEM which now is, and is in bondage with HER CHILDREN. But JERUSALEM which is ABOVE is free, which is the MOTHER OF US ALL." (Gal. 4:25-26)
“…MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” (Revelation 17:5)
"And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, "Come out of her, MY PEOPLE, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." (Rev. 18:4)
They are “called” into and “chosen” OUT of!
"Many are called but few are chosen" (Matt. 22:14)
The 3 Realms of Humanity: the SEA (no 'form of Godliness'), the EARTH (some 'form of Goldliness'), and the HEAVENS (the mind of Christ):
“And every creature which is in HEAVEN [mind of Christ], and on the EARTH [humanity’s ‘form of Godliness’], and under the earth, and such as are in the SEA [no ‘form of Godliness’], and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.” (Rev 5:13)
“that at the name of Jesus every knee [ALL of humanity!] should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth [the 'sea'], and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
(Philippians 2:10-11)
"Therefore rejoice, ye heavens and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and [inhabitants] of the sea! …"
(Rev. 12:12)
