Astrology
"Astrology is a rich and fascinating insight into the interconnectedness of all things. In the signs of the Zodiac we find a microcosm of the universe... parallels between what we see in the cosmos and all earthly matters, both animate and inanimate." (The Guide to Astrology, Lori Reid, p.8)

"The art and science of divination by the position of sun, moon, planets, and stars relative to a position on the surface of the earth... the position of stars and planets at any given moment can be interpreted as a map of the subtle forces and factors in play at that moment. When a person is born, an event takes place, or a question is asked, the characteristics of the exact moment in time when these things happen are mirrored in the heavens, and can be read by those who know how."(Encyclopedia of the Occult)

The universe is a "matrix of forces in which everything affects everything else. The same energies that flow through stars and planets also pulse through the minds and bodies of individual human beings, and the movements of the heavens are thus mirrored in subtle ways by events on earth." (Encyclopedia of the Occult, John Michael Greer)

The Egyptians first made a science of it. The Romans, Greeks, and Babylonians thought it a wondrous tool. Some believe the Magi of the Scriptures were astrologers, thereby pinpointing the location of Christ.

The Knights of the Crusades returned with Eastern influences, including astrology. In the 14th to 17th centuries higher learning and occult sciences were at the forefront and astrology made its way to the West. With the discoveries of Copernicus and Galileo, however, in the 16th and 17th centuries, astrology lost its scientific merit. Widely regarded as a pseudo-science by many, it continues to thrive...
